Monte E. Evans II is co-owner and Director of Sports Management at Competitive Edge. Mr. Evans develops sport specific programs and clinics, partnerships, athletic events and marketing campaigns conducted by
Competitive Edge.

Mr. Evans, better known as Coach Monte is also a performance coach who helps athletes enhance their athletic ability to excel in various sports. He began mentoring and coaching student athletes in 2004 and has continued
to work as an advocate for youth sports. Likewise, Coach Monte has been involved with various sports since age six as an athlete himself. Coach Monte attended Michigan State University where he played for the Spartans Basketball team under hall of fame coach Tom Izzo.

Coach Monte is the head coach of the Dale City Lightning Track Club (DCTC). He co-founded DCTC in 2010, as a track and field running club for boys and girls ages 6 -18. DCTC’s goals are to improve youths’ leadership
skills, enhance their athletic ability, combat juvenile delinquency, and encourage greater participation in school sports programs. Under Coach Monte’s leadership, the team started with 11 athletes and has quickly grown to include both indoor, outdoor, and cross country seasons involving over 300 youth per year in Northern Virginia. Coach Monte has a USA Track and Field Level 1 Coaching Certification. He specifically coaches the sprints and has coached several Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and USATF district, regional and state champions.

Coach Monte is originally from Detroit, Michigan and attended Cass Technical High School. Coach Monte has a BS in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and a MA in the Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University. He currently works full time as a Senior Grant Manager for the Department of Justice.

Fun Fact: Has an extensive collection of tennis shoes

Coach Anthony has been training student-athletes for 7 seven years. He is currently studying Physical Education at Germanna Community College. He is the owner of We GLOBAL Fitness from Fredericksburg, Va by way of New York. His unique style of training specializes in speed strength and agility.

Ashley has been training for 5 years and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Health Physical Education and Exercise Science. She specializes in sport specific strength and power training, special population and rehabilitation.

Fun Fact: Loves to eat and adrenaline junkie.

Christie has been teaching yoga to different age levels and skills for 5 years. She is the owner of FlexFitness LLC and is the creator of SmartMoves for seniors. Her classes are challenging and fun and she believes movement has no age limit. Start moving and keep moving.

Fun Fact: Parkour enthusiast and will travel to jump around.

Lamar has been training for 4 years. Lamar studied at Greensboro College in Greensboro,NC and St. John’s University in Queens,NY.Lamar has a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s in Homeland Security and Criminal Justice. Lamar specializes in speed and resistance training, as well as sport specific training. Lamar played both football and lacrosse while at Greensboro College before transferring to St. John’s where he also played lacrosse.

Fun Fact: Lamar is the Criminal Justice Instructor at Freedom High School
and the Varsity Boy’s Lacrosse Head Coach.

Coach Eddie is a certified IYCA Youth Fitness Specialist , IYCA Kettle bell instructor, IYCA Certified Olympic Lifts instructor and Prince William County School teacher and coach since 2006. Coach Eddie specializing in functional strength, power lifting, and sports endurance. He is also bilingual (Spanish and English) and wrestled at Longwood College.

Jenna was born and raised in Woodbridge, VA, Jenna is a certified NASM Personal Trainer, certified SPIN Instructor, and owner of GET JAM’D Fitness. Jenna specializes in women’s fitness and group fitness. She works full time as
a Business Analyst for the Marines, and teaches Spin and Ultimate Cardio classes in her spare time. She also coaches travel girls lacrosse for Wolfpack Lacrosse Club, and was the Head Coach at Gar-Field High School for
5 years.

Fun Fact: Jenna loves to spend her free time with her husband and their 3 boys.

Kalvin and has been training for 9 years. Kalvin studied at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) where he obtained a Bachelor
degree in Computer Science, and obtained a Gradate Degree in Systems Engineering from George Washington University. Kalvin is also the owner of KMO consulting and specializes in football skill development. Kalvin also played football for UAPB, which included stints at Wide Receiver, Returner, and ultimately ended his collegiate career at Corner Back.
