In addition to our year-round classes and membership options, we have some exciting things going on this summer! Here is a quick breakdown of just a few of the camps and clinics we will host for summer 2018.
2018 Summer Camps
Looking for a way to keep your 8- to 13-year-old busy this summer? Sign them up for a week-long summer camp at Competitive Edge. This fun-filled camp will ensure your kids are unplugged, in motion and having lots of active fun. These week-long camps are an excellent way for kids to make new friends. Sign your kids up for one week or many. Campers will be separated into groups by their grade level and skill level, taking into consideration physical strength and ability. Camp runs June 11 through Aug. 4 and costs $200 per student per week. Before and after care is available, so you can drop your kids off before work and pick them up after. An average day looks something like this:
- 9:00 a.m. – Roll call and announcements
- 9:15 a.m. – Warm up
- 9:45 a.m. – Speed and agility
- 10:15 a.m. – Sports zone 1 activity
- 11:30 a.m. – Sports zone 2 activity

Camp She-EO Business Camp
Do you have a business savvy 8- to 15-year-old? Perfect! Sign her up for one of our upcoming She-EO Business Camps running from June 18 to June 22 and July 16 to July 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We even have a Camp She-EO for Little Business Girls July 16 to July 20. Camp is $135 per mini-entrepreneur, and before and after care is available for $10 per hour. During this unique day camp created by She-EO, LLC, girls will discuss idea development, entrepreneurship, professional etiquette and business planning. Activities include idea storyboarding, goal mapping, vision board collage and business etiquette. They will even plan and present a pitch — which parents are welcome to watch. Bring a lunch, snack, drink and IDEAS.
Girls’ Middle School Track Camp
Middle school girls can get ready for track tryouts during this one-week track camp. All track and field events will be covered, even those that may be new including hurdles, shot put and discus. We will also cover track etiquette, as track is likely a new organized sport for many in this age group. Camp is held at Freedom High School Aug. 20 to Aug. 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. We welcome rising sixth through rising ninth grade girls in this camp. The cost is $125 per athlete.
Mind & Body Movement National Yoga Month
This one is for the adults! In honor of National Yoga Month, Michelle Hunter will be hosting a one-day yoga retreat on Sept. 22 from noon to 3 p.m. We are still working out some of the details, but we will feature local and special guest yoga/mind & body instructors.
This is what we have going on this summer, but keep your eye out for our year-round boot camps, classes and clinics for all ages, too.
