Preseason Training for Spring Sports

Even if you or your child have been active in a sport for many years, you may want to brush up and get back in shape prior to the spring season. To ensure you show up for tryouts or your first day of practice ready to impress, sign up now for preseason training at Competitive Edge. Our preseason training is also perfect for athletes who will be trying out for a new sport they have yet to master!

Softball and Baseball Training and Clinics

We host a variety of preseason camps and clinics to get athletes ready for softball and baseball. As to not interfere with the school week, we host two four-week clinics in both January and February. The clinics are an hour and a half each, and they provide students with the opportunity to get back in shape and improve their overall skillset. Not to worry if the clinics don’t fit in your schedule, as you can also take advantage of our walk-in batting cages, as well as:

  • Team rentals for practice
  • Team rentals for pregame hitting
  • Professional pitching instruction
  • Professional hitting and fielding instruction
  • Strength, speed and agility training
  • Specialized baseball camps and clinics

Simulated Golf

It might be too cold, wet or snowy to head out to the greens, but that doesn’t mean you can’t practice your technique. Our SkyTrak Simulator sets the standard in accuracy and real-time setting for indoor golf. This will get you up to par for the upcoming spring and summer season. It is also the ideal place to perfect your swing, improve form and learn the basics.

Soccer, Tennis, Lacrosse and More!

Get ready for any sport you will be trying out for this spring. This includes soccer, tennis, lacrosse, baseball, softball and golf. Between our private lessons, team and group trainings, clinics and classes, there is sure to be at least a few training options that fit into your preseason schedule. This includes both general and position-specific sports training.

General Athletic Training

IMG_7655LWhile sport-specific training is essential to success as an athlete, don’t underestimate the importance of improving overall athletic ability. Many of our athletes play and compete in multiple sports, which require a variety of skills. To complement absolutely any sport, we provide year-round cross-training. This general training helps minimize injury, balance out overused muscle groups, and improve speed, agility, strength and endurance. We have many general training options to choose from, including our Vertimax resistance jump training, private lessons, weight training, cardio, adult fit classes and more. Each training session is divided into age divisions that ensure athletes build the proper foundation and engage in safe and age-appropriate training.
